A typical stereotype. In Rastafari culture the use of Herb is a sacred sacrament used as part of Nyabhingi reasoning sessions to assist in meditation, cleansing the mind body and soul, and reaching a higher spiritual plain and connection with divinity.
Its use is part of an I-Tal (vital) lifestyle including a strict vegan diet and biblical readings, Rastafari sometimes cite Psalm 104:14 which says that herbs are given for the service of mankind.
Its not about getting stoned (although its no doubt an attraction for many non Rastafarians, rebels and stoners) and many Rastafarians particularly the Bobo Shanti wont smoke herb in public away from the communal Nyabhingi sessions.

No worries. Of course its not just smoked, it has other medicinal purposes, can be eaten, made into oils, creams, tincturesā¦many beneficial uses

I see that Pink Floyd have now decided to release the 50th Anniversary mix of this album as a single package, due for release 13/10. CD and BluRay will also be released.
Do I need yet another copy?

How good is the reissue? I assume itās from digital source, or is it an all-analog reissue?
Iām sorry I have no idea, but if youāre concerned about that Iām sure you could find some info on the full box set released earlier. This is just taken from that set. I might just buy this version on cd anyway and rip it to Core.
Iāll probably pass on it anyway. I have a 70s U.S. copy in decent shape that sounds really pretty good.
I must admit, Iāve been waiting for this.
Iāll go look it up and see what ridiculous amount of money they want me to pay for it

I only got around to buying the Bernie Grundman remix/remaster of TDSOTM last month, so I reckon Iāll go for the CD this time so that I have the best of both worlds.
I only have one CD of DSOTM and thatās the 20th Anniversary mini box set one.
This will be my 3rd Vinyl copy howeverā¦

New long player from the very excellent trumpet player Nick Walters featuring, Tenderlonious, Rebecca Nash, Nim Sadot, Laurie Lowe and Kodjovi Kush.
Im hoping for a von Karajan / Berlin Philharmonic Dvorak 9th. The main reason that I really like that version is that I owned the LP when I was in college and it was the only classical LP in my collection of 70ās rock. This is the version burned in my brain.
Im watching Amazon for the next round of Orignal Source Series releases.
