Excellent album which IMHO she has never bettered.

David Bowie - Liveandwell.com (2020 Remaster)

Available to stream from today (from your preferred outlet!!), this is Bowie on his 1997 Earthling Tour.

The music is mostly drawn from Earthling and Outside, the band sound great, it’s well produced BUT I never really fancied this particular period of his career - the drum 'n bass and very fussy histrionics never really appealed to me - though I do have both original albums (well it’s Bowie!!).

If you like this period, you will probably enjoy this but for me, there are far better Bowie live albums.

The Pretty Things’ last-ever concert, which was of course filmed and recorded. RIP Phil May.

Why is it that most bands of five decades’ vintage get progressively worse while Sparks just get better?

I recall the Liverpool store in Bold Street. It was upstairs (I don’t recall what was downstairs) and full of interesting characters. I bought my US import of Todd Rundgren’s “Todd” on double vinyl from there.

All this talk of LW, here’s my favourite album…

I enjoyed this album so much when I first played it a few months ago I subsequently bought a copy. If you haven’t given it a spin I recommend you do…

Plumhall - The Ghost of Noise - WAV CD rip
First play of the new album from husband and wife folk duo Michelle Plum and Nick Hall. Lovely songs, thoughtful lyrics, nice guitar work, and they harmonise so well. Really enjoyable gentle folk music.

Yes, it kind of creeps up on you. Glad you like it.

Live Bullet [1976]
I had a lot of time for Bob Seger and the SBB through the seventies and early eighties, a rapturous Detroit City audience enjoys him on this one.

Clive Gregson- One Year - WAV CD rip
Clive is retiring from solo touring at the end of 2020 and planned to mark the occasion by releasing an album every month in the year, obviously now unlikely to happen exactly as planned. I’ve just picked up and ripped the 4 released so far, this is the first. 12 well written superbly played and sung vocal guitar numbers themed around the months of the year. Top class folk numbers.

Trip-hop with a mild infusion of pop.

Lovely. I had that, with the textured cover. I still have the download though.

That had pretty bad reviews but I’ve always wondered if it’s any good.

Ceremony by Anna Von Hausswolff on CD. Her second album and very lovely it is too.
