Funnily enough I was just playing that as my postie just delivered a first pressing Japanese cd copy of the album that I got for a steal on fleabay. I have various other versions of the album.

The album that kinda helped him get over his drought in the 70’s. Recorded in Toulouse.
Excellent album

It’s such a difficult album to get the full sonic range. My vinyl is not bad but found the 97 cd remaster disappointing.

Best vinyl version IHMO is the original if you can get one that’s not noisy as they issued it with an card inner sleeve. I also prefer the original version of the cd. I also have a copy of the SACD which I play occasionally.

Lovely piano-led jazz with a wonderful funky, African vibe.

Pure Pleasure reissue vinyl. A strange project – a tenorist plays jazz versions of old Leadsbelly tunes; shouldn’t work, but it’s immensely enjoyable. Sound is lovely too.

Texas singer-songwriter’s fourth album. Not as good as its predecessor Cosmic Wink but it has its moments…
