What are you listening to in 2021 and why might anyone be interested

Double CD from BBC Radio 2 - The Piano Room

A few clunkers but much to like. Standout track is Macca doing Lady Madonna

This always sounded a bit rough, even with NDX2/555DRPS/252DR - a rather ‘hot’ and thin live recording. What’s interesting is that with the ND555/552DR it simply sounds live and puts you right there at The Troubadour. Yes, the edges are still present but they are assimilated into a much more rounded ‘real’ sound. Like you are at the gig close to the stage and are hearing a mix of natural and (over) amplified voice.

It’s great!

Jamiroquai. Return of the Space Cowboy. CD. Not played this for 15 years? Some great songs, but it could not have happened if he had clearly not spent years listening to Stevie Wonder. Almost a SW tribute.

Bob Dylan - Modern Times.

Another corker, third one in a row. A little bit bluesy, a little bit folk rock. His now familiar gruff voice.
