From 2006, this is Scott’s most out there album. So dark, so heavy, so serious, one can see why some dismiss it as tuneless, pretentious rubbish. They are wrong, of course, because it’s brilliant. And anyway, what’s wrong with tunelessness and pretension?

I wanted to LISTEN to some music this afternoon. I keep coming back to this musician.
Great album - so are some of his others !
He is now 82 so I don’t suppose he will be blowing trumpet forever, but he has left a lovely choice of albums to enjoy for years to come.
I have about 30, but there are a few more?!
He certainly blows me away !
