The Durutti Column’s ‘A Paean to Wilson’ on coloured vinyl, with the two discs of the original album in different colours and the third disc in black. It’s a fine album and beautifully presented.

For some reason got Lady Rachel into my head on a walk this arvo. So playing the whole album on surprisingly good Harvest vinyl. Kevin Ayers Joy of a Toy. From more innocent times.

Someone reminded me this farewell show took place on Thanksgiving Day 1976. Seems like a good excuse to play it.

SF Sorrow - Pretty Things. I must admit I was ignorant of this record’s existence and its significance until a few years ago when I bought a cheap reissue on Rare Earth records from my local record shop. Decided to replace it recently as I wanted the g/f sleeve and the sound of the copy I had was distinctly ‘thin’. Original copies on Columbia run into the hundreds so I found this 1987 reissue on Edsel records and it’s mastered by George Peckham, a distinct improvement on my previous copy but I’d love to hear an original pressing in mono.
