They hit a peak here, and then disbanded. Such a shame - a really great album that sounds as cool now as when I first played it.
Same here on mac, I think it’s because you can upload different file types.
Seems a suitable time of the evening for a bit of Dino, I am joining him in enjoying a whisky
Dean Martin - This Time, I’m Swingin’, on hybrid sacd.
Cheers
Billie Holiday - The Silver Selection, superb sound quality on this collection, a flat transfer from the masters, if I remember correctly. Highly recommended.
Never heard about them before. Just added that album to my playlist. Thank you!
Fabulous modern jazz, not a weak album amongst them all.
Peter Gabriel - 4 - Alchemy half speed remaster vinyl
Use of African percussion and rhythms with complex lyrics and textures should make this a challenging listen, but quite the opposite it’s a totally compelling piece of intelligent rock that just draws me in.
Just finishing up my first listen to this and also enjoying it more than I was expecting to, and think it will also be a bit of a grower.
Donald Byrd And 125th Street NYC - Love Byrd -1981
A joint venture between Donald Byrd and Isaac Hayes some top draw soul music.
Indeed, Lisa signed her CD for me.
What a lovely gal.
You can download most of her albums from Bandcamp BTW.
Genesis- Rock Roots - 1976 vinyl
Reissue of their debut album with their early singles added, arty pop-rock with occasionally prog hints, very enjoyable, Gabriel’s vocals and Banks’s keyboards give a hint of what is to come in later albums. A young band with talent, not yet the pioneers they became.
A wonderful album.
Both relaxing and engrossing.
The Canadian Pressing --the only version with Lights of Cincinnati
why it’s not on any others is mystery
Great voice though
