Arrived this morning
Deep Purple Fireball Rhino 2018/19 mastered half speed at Alchemy and pressed at Optimal.
My original vinyl of this and In Rock are another of those “lost” albums from my collection. Glad to have them back.
Lovely package, textured gatefold sleeve, poly lined sleeve and insert.
Not usually a fan of coloured vinyl but so far this is nice and quiet (not the music!) And flat.
Oscar Peterson Trio
Night Train + The Jazz Soul Of Oscar Peterson / 2012 Verve / EU CD / 06007 5340118
Just arrived, first play of this 2 LP’s on 1 CD release
Christine McVie - Christine McVie
Christine Perfect - Blue Horizon Sessions
See my last post, I prefer this album and it er…Rocks! (Blimey turning into Fluff Freeman! )
I could do with a decent pressing/mastering of Machine Head, any suggestions?
Now playing…
John Abercrombie & Ralph Towner - Sargasso Sea
John Abercrombie (Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar) and Ralph Towner (12-String Guitar, Classical Guitar, Piano).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… kicking off this morning with this very fine album from John & Ralph and they are sounding mighty sweet! Thank you Rex for the mention and reminder to take this beautiful album out for a spin!
Lucinda Williams - Essence
started the afternoon with:
Buddy Guy - Blues Singer
followed by:
The Black Keys - Chulahoma: The Songs of Junior Kimbrough
and now:
Bombino - Agadez
On CD:
Lo’Jo’s new album - transe de Papier - the usual mix of chanson and North African with a few beats thrown in. Sung more in English than before. Guest appearances from Tony Allen and, on spoken word, national treasure Robert Wyatt. Last time we saw them in a local dance studio Denis played keys barefoot - Lady BC’s delicate sensibilities meant she couldn’t watch!
Now playing…
John Abercrombie - Open Land
John Abercrombie (Guitar), Mark Feldman (Violin), Kenny Wheeler (Trumpet, Flugelhorn), Joe Lovano (Tenor Saxophone), Dan Wall (Organ) and Adam Nussbaum (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on this morning with this fabulous and talented sextet and just love this album. …they are sounding mighty sweet!
