Stacey Kent has been releasing some ‘lockdown singles’, they are all excellent and this one was released today, on QoBuz.
Thanks for posting, this is new to me & right up my street. This was an immediate ‘yes’ from me on listening and as your good self, now investigating the back catalogue.
The Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker
2CD|2021
30th Anniversary release, listening to the Unreleased Songs & B-Sides disc.
Edit: No remastered album in my set, came with the 1990 concert disc instead.
The Black Keys - Chulahoma.
The boys do da blooze, with the songs of Junior Kimbrough.
Stonkingly good, Tidalising it right now, and a massive shout to @Eric-F for posting it earlier.
Belter!
Continuing the MONO journey of discovery started last night.
Similar but significantly different.
Enjoying this one as well and it joins the Bandcamp basket.
MONO Hymn to the Immortal Wind
I’m still not sure how to describe it
But tried 2 more since the original one. Hymn to the Immortal Wind
Wasn’t so keen on Requiem For Hell
And two excellent albums, too!

I still miss my Karik. A awesome and beautiful cd player!
Yes, a bit of a mixed bag but interesting nonetheless. I have also tried & liked Hymn to the Immortal Wind, didn’t get to Requiem for Hell (so prep’d for a disappointment). I have skimmed through For My Parents and Rays of Darkness which sounded ok on first listen but need to spend a bit more time to decide in/out.
The 2018 mastered at abbey road is good but may be hard to find. Made in Japan is really good as well. If fact all the last lot of Purple reissues are the best I’ve heard. Steer well clear of any that are the anniversary editions bloody awful
it’s a great cd player
this is a mk3 one of the latest products.
Now playing…
John Abercrombie - Class Trip
John Abercrombie (Guitar), Mark Feldman (Violin), Marc Johnson (Double-Bass) and Joey Baron (Drums).
Streaming on Qobuz (44.1/16)… continuing on into the noon hour with John’s ‘Class Trip’ and the quartet is sounding sublime! …going to get ready to start today’s exercise program and a couple of John’s albums will provide some very fine music to keep me company…
Just getting misty eyed remembering seeing most of this album played live a few years back.
With that dude playing the reeds.
Good for you! These extra descriptions you get with streaming nowadays make it much easier for us to notice.
…
Been playing the entire Steely Dan catalogue today as background to work.
Currently up to this masterpiece from 1977
