I really enjoyed Moondance, so continuing with more Van and his album His Band And The Street Choir.
The Rolling Stones - Tattoo You, surely the best album of “leftovers” ever!
That brings back some great memories igahman, good choice
Claude
Brett Anderson - Wilderness
Cello-driven chamber pop from 2008. A tad overwrought in parts but undeniably affecting. I’m glad to have rediscovered it. I’m not sure I gave it much attention at the time. Will definitely give it a few more plays over the coming days.
Just put this on- a forgotten gem
Jan Hammer night over here, will follow this one with Timeless (with Abercrombie) and try to stay awake with an old Miami Vice episode. (Only joking…perhaps)
Think I’d have to agree most after this aren’t that good imo.
I still think that there is good music to be found on the later releases, just not in the same quantities as the classic stuff. Although as you know not all the material comes from the same period, I think Tattoo You nicely bookends the Some Girls / Emotional Rescue material and can be seen as the end of the band’s classic era.
I bought the vinyl version of this when it came out. Haven’t heard it for years but Fates Warning came up in a comment on a Queensryche YouTube video I was watching.
Qobuz to the rescue and I’m really enjoying it.
Fates Warning - Awaken The Guardian
The 3rd studio album from one of the founders of progressive metal but critically described as more for heavy metal fans as the song lyrics aren’t progressive enough.
Caravan, In The Land Of Grey And Pink, cd rip
Living in a terrace house is killing music listening No Hi-Fi because there’s no room so playing through the telly and so damn quiet it’s hardly worth the effort First album I’ve played in a week
