Ed Harcourt - Beyond The End
As recommended by a Mr Paul Weller really enjoying this.
Ruthie Foster – The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster
CD|2006
Rough Trade call this a modern day classic then go on to mention in the review: Prince, Marvin Gaye, Jimi Hendrix, Tricky; Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Brian Wilson, Scott Walker, Stevie Wonder, Shuggie Otis, Faust, Tangerine Dream and I’ll add the Edgar Broughton Band.
He made a few albums then walked away from it all.
Yes a modern day classic Lewis Taylor

Ed Harcourt - Monochrome to Colour
Ed Harcourt (Vocals), Clive Deamer (Drums), Amy Langley (Violin) and Gita Langley (Violin).
Streaming on Qobuz (48/24)… a mention from @Bobthebuilder above had me place Ed’s ‘Beyond The End’ into the queue for a spin and the music is sounding mighty fine! Some fine recovery music that is quite relaxing after working out with a couple of Lou Reed;'s albums while performing today’s exercises. Life is grand and the music is sweet…
In the beginning… almost PP ( pre prog) there was this… ‘ sweetness’ itself
UK first pressing from almost 39(!) years ago. I haven’t heard this in ages. Old Q certainly knows how to produce a record:
Calexico - Carried To Dust
CD|2008
It’s such an amazing record, I agree.
I was introduced to it years ago by my ex-wife, who said it was one of the greatest records ever made. She was really into Mod culture and saw it as part of that broad aesthetic.
I couldn’t see it/hear it like that back then but slowly warmed to its feel and charms. It’s great.
That said, I haven’t heard it for years. Will listen in again.

Wondering what ‘Nafs’ are, must admit.
