Streaming I found the first set of Jools Holland sessions rather disappointing SQ, like I was just listening off the telly speakers. So been hesitant about the vinyl myself

This is a fantastic compilation
Streaming in the cab, no fares but having a gas with this, some genuine familiar classics and a few new to me
4LP vinyl price seems a bit steep, shall I shan’t I?

Mighty fine Blues Covers album

@Dreadatthecontrols – I bought it on vinyl at the weekend. It is grossly overpriced for four LPs, but by god, as an object it is beautiful. Lovely sound too.

Fine recording and uplifting music by this Grammy nominated young man.

Thanks Kev, I’ve just gone f#ck it I’m having it! I’ve gone against my normally ethical consumer choice though on this occasion and literally sold myself down the “river”. Theyve reduced it to £126, mrs Dread has prime for work and it’s being delivered today, same day delivery.
Will probably bag the Speakers Corner Ornette Coleman from my preferred source.
Thanks for highlighting the Impulse set on the vinyl thread btw.
I see theres also another set Impulse 60th Anniversary

Blimey, Ted Hawkins… there’s a name I haven’t heard or indeed thought about for years! Thanks for this, @catswhiskers
I will seek this out.

Also enjoying the new black keys album so I just have to play this.

Disc 1 of a triple set, which I acquired today. My word, Basie is just brilliant. A tenner for four hours’ worth of music of this quality makes this one of the bargains of the year…

On the subject of Impulse compilations, this was one of my first introductions to the label. Nice 2LP set from GRP 1991
Only dissapointment was a couple of tracks being truncated edits
