What are you listening to in 2021 and why might anyone be interested

  1. Among the dense mist
The morning that wants to break
    Planet Earth
    Can no longer live

[Chorus]
A cloud of cement and concrete
That robs you of light and reason
Nuclear wars, pollution
You’ll never see the sun again

[Verse 2]
And the blue mist continues to advance
Humanity can no longer breathe

[Other]
You’ll never see the sun again

  1. Everyone runs along the common road
    All roads go nowhere
If you have to run, run away
If you have to die, just die

Your city is a mass grave
All roads go nowhere
If you have to run, run away
If you have to die, just die

Your city is a mass grave
All roads go nowhere
If you have to die, die
If you have to run, just run

No way over the horizon
What men dreamed of
Without how or why
Without how or why
Life dies in front
And death is what you see

Little by little we saw the world end
And we were silent
There was no cry
No gesture was made
Neither the ruin itself
Managed to keep us awake

  1. Come friend
    On the ship I command
    Forget the notion of time
    Don’t ask me when

Come quickly
Before it’s too late
Do not look back
Already the whole Earth burns

Mars is green and Mercury glows
Between Venus and Centaur
Pluto is white and staging point
On the journey through Heaven

In the central cabin
I issued a signal
Everything on the screen on the go
Everything indicates normal

Mars is green and Mercury glows
Between Venus and Centaur
Pluto is white and staging point
On the journey through Heaven

In the central cabin
I issued a signal
Everything on the screen
Everything indicates normal

  1. Where I go
    Which paths to follow
    Whom I addressed
    What words I used

I’m not from here
I fled from the crowd
From what dream I woke up
Only I know

And when I left
From the Earth I left
Only you accompanied me
Nobody else

I’m not from here
I fled from the crowd
From what dream I woke up
Only I know

  1. You can see
    10,000 years later
    On the radar screen
    Between Venus and Mars
    An empty planet
    Waiting to be discovered
    Where to start again
    Another civilization

You can see
10,000 years later
On the radar screen
Between Venus and Mars
An empty planet
Waiting to be discovered
Where to start again
Another civilization

Let’s go back from the infinity of the beyond
To a planet we left behind
From scratch, reborn, rediscover
The air, the sea, the land, the sun, love, peace

Got to say that, obviously, it’s all a matter of personal taste.
However there,s a intuitive line that separates quality music ( complex composition) from the other more chewing gum.
Here is my second proposal…

The title track, which reads “Sailing Up This River”, synthesizes both lyrically and musically this album based on “Peregrinação” - the travel diaries of the 16th century Portuguese adventurer Fernão Mendes Pinto. Admittedly having to run for his life, he rushed into a ship to India and over the course of a twenty-one-year-long journey he had outlive manifold hardships and life threatening situations in Arabia, Ethiopia, India, China, Indochina, Malaysia and other Near and Far Eastern places. In this song and while he sails inland, FMP retraces in ecstasy the distinguishing particulars and idiosyncrasies of a Chinese society unveiling; back in the days the unsuspected European would be rather blank to sort out a series of these installments in his/her most exotic or wildest dreams.

Enjoy

Going to join @davidng with a bit of Badu - her brilliantly bonkers live album.

New album by Black Midi out today - Cavalcade. Pretty experimental but Morgan Simpson remains one of the most exciting new drummers out there

Goldfrapp, wonderful electric live in London. Work week is done! Time for some electric beats and fun! It’s snap lockdown in Melbourne. All the more I want a live performance even though it’s a bit short.

Goldfrapp, strict machine. Wonderful electric was just way too short, sorry! Need another dose of Goldfrapp! More power with remixes of strict machine.

Nanci Griffith, other voices, other rooms. Feel very happily filled up after Goldfrapp. Now slowing the tempo down with this beautifully soothing one. :yum:
