Anita Brevik - Lux

Anita Brevik, the Trondheim Soloists, and Nidarosdomens Jentekor.

Streaming on Qobuz (176.4/24)… continuing on this album which I had place in Queue recently and decided to take out for a spin. The opening trac is sounding superb and looking forward to the rest of the album.

Klaus Schulze - Timewind (1975)

Still in semi lockdown here so I’m catapulting my mind into distant space. This one and his later Moondawn along with the trio of Phaedra, Rubycon and Stratosfear (74 to 76) from Tangerine Dream are, in my view, the essential Berlin school electronic albums.

The last great album featuring the Classic Black Uhuru line up of Michael Rose, Duckie Simpson, Puma Jones (RIP) and Sly n Robbie
Black Uhuru - Anthem 1983

I have the original first mix of the album on LP which was apparently withdrawn as soon as it was released (I thought it seemed to vanish quickly at the time)
And subsequently and confusingly released as 3 different LPversions

Island put out a 4CD Complete Anthem sessions which I’m streaming and gathers up the original, US and various different mixes and dubs.
Recorded at Compass Point in Nassau this is Black Uhuru and Sly n Robbie at their peak, fusing Reggae with Pop/Rock and electro, a stripped back sound, not much horn section the occasional Sax flourish by Dean Fraser, but the interplay with Robbies deep authoritative and heavy bass with Slys punching syn drums is both powerful and has the sophisticated production value of Compass Point. Sadly soon after Michael Rose left and Puma Jones past away.
