What are you listening to in 2023 and why might anyone be interested?

Now Playing…

Tori Amos - Scarlet’s Hidden Treasures

Tori Amos (Bösendorfer Piano, Fender Rhodes Piano, Wurlitzer Electric Piano, Vocals), Mac Aladdin (Acoustic Guitar), Matt Chamberlain (Drums) and Jon Evans (Bass Guitar).

Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… a mention yesterday had me place in the queue and now kicking off this Sunday morning with Tori’s 2023 remaster of ‘Scarlet’s Hidden Treasures’ released in 2004. …and Tori and the band are sounding mighty sweet!

Whenever you can just buy all that is available on the CTi label. That Milt Jackson album Sunflower is a gem.

Abit of shoegaze curtesy of Slowdrive… Mogwai without the sonic attack intensity.

Deana Carter - Did I Shave My Legs For This - CD

This is definitely a blast from the past, 1996 to be exact, and I had forgotten how good it is.

That reminded me I’d pre-ordered the vinyl re-release of Scarlet’s Walk from Amazon, I think it was originally due to be delivered around 9th Sept but hasn’t been dispatched yet

It’s in-stock (for more) on their site so where’s my copy lurking?

Now listening via Qobuz to the 2023 hi-res remaster, might be my memory but bass lines seem significantly louder than I originally recall and very effective.
