UK RCA LP. What ‘might have been’.
Massive orage with pyrotechnics in the Languedoc hills listening to some top Americana - 25 years ago this would have been in my 10 my most listened to - BB and Wilco Mermaid Avenue joyous reworkings of Woody Guthrie songs including a luscious California Stars and a sweet ode to Ingrid Bergman. CD rip via HiRes player.
Ultravox - Vienna - 1980
Long time no play and thoroughly enjoying it. All the joie de vie of that new decade …

Sting - Nothing Like The Sun
Another Jazz In Britain 2CD set. The CDs have yet to arrive in the mail but Bandcamp download into Muso gives instant gratification !
Quincy Jones - Body Heat
Interesting last track “If I Ever Lose This Heaven” listening to the Hi Res - intro seems to push the stereo imaging beyond the speakers by a couple of feet.
Still got my old 1974 cassette of that one ! Eventually, I bought the LP.
Great album (even for those of us with ordinary speakers ).
Decided to go somewhat heavier next with this….
Tool - Lateralus
Sounding beautiful through the 222/300/250 btw
I’ve not posted much recently as the lounge/listening room has had a redecoration and the system has been switched off and under dust sheets.
Everything’s back up and running now and kicked the evening off with this favourite
Bruce Hornsby And The Range - Scenes From The Southside
Rod Stewart - Every Picture Tells A Story - CD
having just watched the local derby, Rod sprung to mind
