On another Astral plane from the 70s Boston free jazz scene - LP version.
Looks interesting. Cheers!
On CD:-
Mahler Symphony No. 5 - Bernard Haitink - Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam
Been a while since I listened to some of Eric Steckel’s earlier releases.
This one is Feels like home from 2008.
Siouxsie and the Banshees - The Scream
1978 UK Original Pressing
A Post-Punk masterpiece. The record is still very fresh, sounds fantastic. One of the most important records of this period, you can hear the influence of Patti Smith, but it’s a bit rougher. Just enjoying it
Frankie Archer - Oxford City. Single from her forthcoming EP, Never So Red. Northumbrian folk with contemporary touches. Interesting and refreshing. Her version of Close the Coalhouse Door is quite chilling.
Paul McCartney. Band on the run.
Not because a lot of people have been playing it, not even because it’s a great album but because I’ve had the words to Let em in going round and round in my head.
Someone knocking at the door ,
Somebody ringing the bell,
Do me a favour,
Open the door,
And let em in.
And yes, as I found out, it’s not even on this album.
Been one of those days
My copy just arrived.
I was about to point out that it’s not on the album, so more fool me for not reading the post all the way through. Anyway, when I saw McCartney last year, he seemed to suggest that Let 'Em In was about the plight of migrants and refugees. But maybe I was the last person in the world to realise this.
Air - Talkie Walkie
I’ve learnt something, I always thought it was the other way round. Had to look twice at the CD case.
No you weren’t; I’ve just learnt having read your post
Mine hasn’t.
