Fair to say I just love Love! Finally got my Love albums down to manageable, even sensible proportions (compared to my The Doors stash, lol).
Been a fan since the Laughing Stock/ Your Mind & We Belong Together single in 68.
A House Is Not A Motel is a great song, agreed,
as so many of Arthur’s (and Bryan’s) songs were.
Great band.
Surprise Chef’s not titled for these times of war, “All News Is Good News”.
They put it in speech marks, so maybe they were being sardonic, ironic, moronic. . .
Worth it for the cover art. Obviously inspired by the film The Harder They Come, with the title and lead track based on John Holts classic Police In Helicoptor
Police in Helicopter” with its enigmatic references, cool codes and mysterious link to the “Copyright Liberation Front”, is the sound manifesto of the Dubinator, the missing link between Dub, New Age Dread-Tech and Science-Fiction… = Dub Surrealistic !
I’m not sure there will ever be a ‘Love 2’ or at least I hope there won’t. The original is a soundtrack to the Cirque du Soleil show, which I believe is still running in Las Vegas.
Regarding the more recent Giles Martin remixes, I think these are the best yet, so much so that I no longer bother with the original vinyl or CDs (original and 9/9/09 versions) except those which haven’t yet had the Giles Martin golden touch.
As for the recent single, Now and Then, it’s a definite grower. I occasionally find myself humming it, or worse still, singing it!
