I’m jealous + you can’t beat a bit of Vini …
Used to get my hair cut at the same barbers as John - smashin lad.
Prestige 2LP set - Jack McDuff.
This is a bit melancholy and rather beautiful. A piece by Johann Johannson based on the story of Orpheus. I hadn’t heard of the record or the composer until Elizabeth Alker played it on her R3 programme. She played the track ‘ A sparrow alighted on our shoulder’ which is just gorgeous. Fab SQ

What a debut album this was … … … and still sounding as fresh and relevant as ever.
That’s a lovely Boxset John, very tempted by that one…
Yes SQ is good if not a bit drum and bass heavy at times and the track listing is what a Cream fan wants to hear.
Even includes the track Theme for an imaginary Western which is a favourite of mine. - lovely piano - definitely sounds like a grand that gives a real depth to the sound.
For me, I still need to hear the original vocalist at times - but timeless tunes .
Go on you know you want it
Thanks for taking the time and the review yet another old album I might just have to buy again…
The track sunshine of your love is on you tube if you want to sample the sound.
