Barry Dransfield - Barry Dransfield

Peel was a fan with Barry Dransfield recording no less than 9 sessions.

The album at one time was the rarest folk album with copies changing hands at £400.

My copy is on CD but I see the legendary Nick Saloman - The Bevis Frond has just released it on vinyl.

An exceptional debut album.

Nick’s involvement piques my interest even more than your obscurities usually do Andy. First on tomorrow. :+1:

John Sinclair Presents Detroit Artists Workshop, 1965 - 1981. Sinclair, poet, writer, activist and manager of the MC5, promoted many jazz shows in Detroit, alongside trumpeter Charles Moore. Some excellent jazz grooves on this compilation.

Just tuned into the forum this morning and interest piqued by the discussion of Nick Saloman/Bevis Frond.
Never heard of them before so did a bit of googlin’, blimey talk bout prolific! So best start at the start methinks, the earliest album I can find on Qobuz being this one from 1987 added to todays playlist

Indeed indeed, disappointingly I got censored recently for quoting John Sinclairs intro on Kick Out The Jams

I’d also recommend this, an absolute classic. In fact, it’s going on the IEMs in the gym this morning.

Marianne Faithfull - Easy come, Easy go

One of those albums that normally only gets an outing in the evening.

Covers apparently, so Wiki tells me.
