What are you listening to in 2023 and why might anyone be interested?

I have a Gwen Stefani (No Doubt singer) Christmas record, which I’ll play later.

And Phil Spector’s ‘A Christmas Gift For You’. A very poor excuse for a human being, but a great record.

Just playing “The Coventry Carol” from this. It is a beautiful piece of music but not a laugh a minute.

"The “Coventry Carol " is an English Christmas carol dating from the 16th century. The carol was traditionally performed in Coventry in England as part of a mystery play called The Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors . The play depicts the Christmas story from chapter two in the Gospel of Matthew: the carol itself refers to the Massacre of the Innocents, in which Herod ordered all male infants under the age of two in Bethlehem to be killed, and takes the form of a lullaby sung by mothers of the doomed children.” WIKI.

Christy Moore - On the Road - Tidal 16/44
The legend of Irish folk captured in various live gigs over 3 years. His usual mix of tender ballads and rabble-rousing sing-alongs, it’s a great record of the shows of one of the master live performers, from his intimate solo and duo (with his great mate Declan Sinnott) gigs to a full band blasting out to a wild audience. One of my favourite albums released this century.
I’m not quite sure why I chose this, I suspect my subconscious perpetrated a Christymas pun.

Always liked his vocals. This album was produced by Linda Ronstadt, and features too many stars to mention.
