Did somebody mention Joe Harriott?

Lining up his superb early sixties album Abstract, leading a fine British band, Shake Keane, Pat Smythe, fellow Jamaican Coleridge Goode, Bobby Orr or Phil Seamen.

Classic album and one of the earliest UK journeys into free’er impressionistic styles of modern Jazz if I’m not mistaken

With added bonus of Shake Keane’s perfectly pitched brandy glass !

This was used as a protective packing layer for another album. I’d never heard of her, but it’s great!
Smooth big band - popular classic songs sung beautifully - just lovely. She was active for a long time so I guess these recordings are 1940s -late 50’s.

Derrick Harriott - Rock Steady Party (Trojan Fan Club CD)

Producer and artist Derrick Harriott earned a deserved reputation for quality productions and this lovely expanded edition of a once rare LP compiles top quality late sixties Rocksteady era music.

I guess this is the equivalent of taking a picture of the LP spinning on the turntable…

Lionel Richie. Can’t Slow Down. Vinyl 1983.

" Can’t Slow Down (1983), reached number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold over 20 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling albums of all time;"

I got “dragged” along to see him on his “Dancing on the Ceiling” tour in the mid 80s at the NEC. Brilliant entertainment.

Playing some vinyl this afternoon.

Original 1983 LP - when they were REALLY exciting.

50th anniversary half speed master - crisp and clear, it fairly jumps out of the speakers. My introduction to Bowie and still at school in 1972, still my favourite of his.

“Gimmee your hands”!!!

Boston Boston

I looked out this morning and the sun was gone
Turned on some music to start my day
I lost myself in a familiar song
I closed my eyes and I slipped away

There is a programme on Radio 4 called ‘I’ve never watched Star Wars’ where people do things they’ve never done before.

I have owned a few double albums forever but never listened to them all the way through. The list:-

Bruce Springsteen- The River
Prince - Sign of the Times
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti
The Clash - London’s Calling

So to start the double album therapy:

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
