Used vinyl from Discogs that just arrived today:
Paul Carrick - A Different Hat.
Now playing…
Courtney Marie Andrews – Loose Future
Streaming on Qobuz (96/24)… a mention from @patk above had me place in the queue and now taking out for a spin. Opening track is sounding sweet and looking forward to the rest of the album!
Kevin Ayers - Sweet Deceiver
From 1975 Elton joins on piano. Great guitar playing from Ollie Halsall
As expected from one of the great British eccentrics.
Absolutely love that album,Capaldi’s Cafe is a standout for me. First album,2nd Honeymoon was also brilliant.
Kristina Train - Dark Black, on CD from c.2013
US-based singer/songwriter. There are many influences going on here (more pop/Americana/even country influences than say jazz to my ear), with KT’s voice to the fore throughout (along with a lot of bass in the mixes, which are quite thick at times!). This album was heavily promoted when released and is very good IMHO.
Another one which can be had on CD for buttons from re-sellers.
This is a great album, very well recorded too.
Primal Scream - Screamadelica boxset.
Playing disc 2, remixes of the various singles taken from the album.
An absolute belter, an essential listen for all Scream fans … … … .(like me!).
Morgan James, Live From Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola (A celebration of Nina Simone) – on CD from c.2012. Never far away from my CDP.
Wonderful covers, with MJ’s powerful and highly articulate vocals carrying all before them. I’ve heard many covers of Nina but none compare to MJ IMHO. Very well recorded and some stonking tracks on here. Very highly recommended if jazz/soul is your thing.
It is good on vinyl
