Happy Birthday - Stewart Copeland 16/07/52 : 72 today
American musician, multi-instrumentalist and composer Stewart Copeland best known as the drummer for The Police and for his film music soundtracks. He was also a member of Curved Air who had 1971 UK No.4 single ‘Back Street Luv’. The Police scored the 1983 UK & US No.1 single ‘Every Breath You Take’ plus four other UK No.1 singles.
Now mostly superceded by official releases, but this 4-CD boot box from Italy’s Great Dane Records was quite something back in 1993! Going through it again makes for a nice nostalgic afternoon’s listening.
Now playing…

Cream - Fresh Cream - CD (1966)
Formed 58 years today, The three piece group only lasted two years, leaving behind some classic recordings including ‘Sunshine of Your Love,’ ‘Badge,’ ‘Strange Brew,’ and ‘White Room.’
EC recorded live at the Budokan Dec 79. 2X vinyl. Really well recorded. I bought this when I was a student.
EC. 1983. Vinyl. Not his best but some good stuff on it.
Clapton chose the name of the album “because that’s all I saw myself having left” after his first rehabilitation from alcoholism. WIKI.
