Sophie Watillon Marin Marais - La Rêveuse, & Autres Pièces De Viole
2003 Alpha / France CD / Alpha036
A fine album. Which Lavazza blend do you recommend? I’ve tried and enjoyed Perfetto, but I’ve a feeling there might be something more to be my liking.
Sunday arvo Hub - Freddie Hubbard with a variety of bands and settings on 1963s The Body and the Soul. To be reissued on Decca/Impulse - so another purchase. Deelightful.
Thanks. I drink the ‘Rosso’. In truth the grind is too fine for my moka pot. But it was on a two-fer, so I went for it. My normal choice is Waitrose own label ‘Ethiopia Sidamo’. Hard to find in Florida though!
Now, Beth Orton - Central Reservation
Paul Simon - Graceland - CD (1986)
Another album celebrating its birthday today, released 38 years ago
An old fave from 1972 - Ian Carr Belladonna. Fusion at its best, great compositions and superb playing, none better than Alan Holdsworth’s scorching guitar work. On excellent Meester Bongo reissue vinyl.
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours Live
Someone else triggered this. I played it on Qobuz. It’s a fine live album, but there’s too much audience noise to be recommended in my opinion, especially in the last track, the beautiful Songbird.
A quick blast between this afternoon’s TV games. Vinyl.
i,i by Bon Iver. For some reason I never explored this much when it came out in 2019 but it really is an extraordinary record with incredible SQ
I’ve just downloaded this from Bandcamp, and to my surprise it’s in 192kHz. These two make some great music.
Bongo’s a great pressing.
Santa will bring me a mint original one day …
