What are you listening to in 2024 and why might anyone be interested?

I bought a couple of Rolling Stones albums, ‘Sticky Fingers’ and ‘Exile On Main Street’ - disappointed that there is no longer a working zip fastener!

Yes but it wasn’t very friendly with adjoining albums even with the ‘protective’ plastic

Very true! And it must have driven up the cost of producing the record sleeve.

Totally agree with you.
I didn’t know its going to be reissued, might grab a copy.

The Aritocrats - Freeze - Live in Europe 2020

Guthrie Govan - guitar
Bryan Beller - bass
Marco Minnemann - drums

A guitar, bass and drums lesson in every track. Guthrie is one of the best guitar players I’ve heard.

Whilst enjoying listening to Ray Cooper’s love for all kinds of music on Private Passions this week, Paul Buckmaster’s incredibly varied work was featured. (cf. 60 Years On by Elton).

Led me to this:

Alchemy/Third Ear Band (1969).

A proto-On The Corner. I didn’t know Miles invited Buckmaster to the rehearsals and recordings until hearing Ray Cooper explained the link.

Can’t believe I am admitting to this but I am 3 tracks into this and it’s pretty good so far.

Bowie - David Live

Just enjoying this fantastic live album. Thanks again to @AndyP and @Blackstar for the recommendation. My personal killer track here is the version of „Moonage Daydream“. What a h@ll of a song. My neighbors also know it now :ok_hand: These Live Tracks from The Dame make my day, what a great artist!

Not my favorite band but this is a banger from 1976.

If you are looking for more live Bowie - my favourite live album of his is Serious Moonlight: Live 1983, which was the Let’s Dance World Tour. For me, it’s Bowie at his peak and the band are fantastic, thrilling stuff.

Apart from Andy and Blackstar’s recommendations others worth checking out are the Reality Tour Live, which was his last tour and covers a lot of later material. The other nugget is the live album that accompanied the Bowie at the Beeb box set, CD 3 - it also contains the best live version of Ashes to Ashes that I have heard.

Happy listening!

Thanks @LSLFAN for your recommendations, put the Serious Moonlight on my list. I own The Reality Tour LP box and I love it. I also streamed the Bowie at the beeb tracks, where are nice tracks on it. The SQ is a little inconsistent on that one, but there are really great versions on it.

Actually I took a little Bowie break and trying to finally get into PGs new album, what I have been trying for months  IMO the album is like a roller coaster with too little peaks
