What are you listening to in 2024 and why might anyone be interested?

Beautifully put
His love of music and enthusiasm and playing stuff that the revered Peel didn’t
Like you I have so many great albums that he championed from that era
Like this one I am about to give a spin as you have given me a nudge
Cheers Ian

Not the music, but where I bought it from.

Hard to believe Selectadisc (Berwick Street) closed in 2003. I always preferred Selectadisc to Sister Ray: they often had interesting stuff at good prices.

We had a trip up to “that London” yesterday and cut through Soho on our way to our afternoon tea appointment in Gt. Marlborough Street. Very busy, but increasingly "corporate ", especially Carnaby St.

I like it, it’s different from the regular piano trio, it’s playfully, and surprising…

Eivor (Palsdottir) from the Faroe Isles.

Already listened to the recent EP release Upp Ur Oskuni and really enjoyed it, so thought I’d try the album above from 2020.

Les Paul - Les Paul Now! - CD (2004)

It would have been Les Paul’s, Birthday today 09/06/15 who had a 1953 UK No.7 single with ‘Vaya Con Dios’ and the US No.7 single ‘Hummingbird’ with Mary Ford featuring his multi-layered recording techniques. He also pioneered ‘close miking’ and echo delay recording. He broke his right arm in a car accident and had it set at an angle so he could still play guitar. Paul died in hospital in White Plains, New York at the age of 94 suffering from severe pneumonia on 12 Aug 2009.

Another nostalgia purchase, listened to this loads of times and other phase 4 stereo LPs from my parents collection.
