Elephants Memory,I’m sure everyone knows the Lennon connection.
Gerry Rafferty - City To City - CD (1978)
Gerry Rafferty’s album City To City went to No.1 on the US chart, this week in 1978 knocking off ‘Saturday Night Fever’, which had been at the top of the charts for almost six months.
After an extremely busy last two weeks, so it’s been a slow start for me today.
Just put some Taylor Swift on, to ease me into the rest of the day…
KAK - self titled (1968). San Francisco psychedelic outfit, fronted by Gary Yoder, later of Blue Cheer. Undeservedly largely forgotten album of good Bay Area psychedelic rock with country accents. Worth a listen if you like that sort of thing.
Big Special - Post Industrial Hometown Blues. Punk blues? Something like that, with a Black Country twist. Gotta love a track called I Mock Joggers:
I mock joggers, because I’m insecure about my weight,
I should be out running but I’m always running away or running late.
A great reminder to lob some DM on next … so sad losing Andy last year i’m sure Dave and Martin have struggled since losing him.
I’m always glad to help! He’s a big loss, and although their last album ‘Memento Mori’ was started before his death, it must have had an impact on both Martin Gore and Dave Gahan, this is where I thank you now for pointing me towards Memento Mori as my next listen, cheers.
