Renaissance - Turn Of The Cards
Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong - Porgy & Bess
For those who expressed their dislike for jazz on the Bristol Show thread, maybe you should listen to this. A fine jazz big band interpretation of Gershwin’s opera, with the outstanding voice of Ella contrasting with the rasp of Armstrong. The sound is rather excellent too.
Rigoletto. Callas, Gobbi, Di Stefano at their peak. The remastered hires version. One of my favourite Rigolettos.
Always enjoy this album with Rick Wakeman back and the magnificent Awaken

Alongside close to the edge, my favourite. Both are near perfect albums!
Good to seeing you posting again, And I hope you’re on the mend after your recent health issues.

Yeah they were really on exceptional form.
Tomato was a disappointment in comparison with some really awful tracks like Circus Of Heaven and that awful by Yes standards album cover.
Going back to our Marillion chat I really like Fuguzi as an album especially Incubus…again superb sound quality with Nick Tauber producing again after Script
Ian
Agreed. I love all four Fish era albums and many of the subsequent Marillion albums too. I saw them on the tour for the fourth album and the first of the post fish tours. That dates me ![]()
