Mmmnn… Tilapia are somewhat notorious for being an unhealthy fish to eat.

Not Chinese but is Vietnamese any better……u

Friends over for dinner this evening. Pheasant, bacon and leek pie with a suet pastry crust plus a gratin of potatoes, parsnips, celeriac and Jerusalem artichokes (from my allotment). Braised cavolo nero on the side.

Followed this with a pud I have shown before- panna cotta on a spiced Grand Marnier jelly topped with mandarin segments and stem ginger

Finished off with a fantastic Bergkase cheese

First attempt at a Parmigiana.
I think next time I’ll ditch spinach and double up the aubergine.

Did you coat the aubergine in breadcrumbs?

No, I just sliced thinly and baked in the oven.
No pre salting or frying.
There does seem to be an awful lot of different recipes for something so simple. Unfortunately I have never ordered it when I have eaten out - so haven’t got a clue about how it should taste and look.

Kids over for dinner. Mrs W Dished up mega portions of lasagna before I could pic, followed by apple tart and custard.

Shallot tarte tatin, Waitrose recipe. Bigger banana shallots are better - they are easier to turn over and don’t collapse.
