I lived in Thorpe St Andrew for most of the '90s, so the Fur and Feather at Woodbastwick was a favourite haunt!

The beer selection last night, was of a much higher quality than the football on display!

The Dragonhead stout is a firm favourite.

Beerbohm’s Lichfield. Pooh Bear was too sweet but the Jouster was a bitter counterpart.

Horny Betty Bio-Tripel (Brauhaus Gusswerk, Salzburg)

Strong and soft, almost creamy, slightly fruity. And with 9% something for real men only.

Back in less politically correct days, in pubs in the UK that glass would have been referred to as a ‘ladies glass’. Real men wouldn’t have been seen dead drinking anything less than a pint!

Well, the beer is pure gold; but it’s called Bure Gold, after the River Bure in Norfolk (being a Norfolk brewed ale)!

Erdinger Weißbier - from Bavaria.

Well, Franziskaner is better. That’s all I can think of.
