What beer are you drinking and WHY might anyone be interested?

Twice Brewed Nectaronicon. A very nice NEIPA. Brewed about 50m from where we are sitting.

I forgot to photograph the pumps but the Weetwood, Old Dog, came and went in about 24 hours; cracking pint!

It’s busy in the pub now the main tourist season is upon us. This means the ales turn around pretty quickly.

Only one of the ales I posted yesterday survived until this afternoon. Fat Cat Gold, Swannay Seafire and Comarty 80 shilling, were all on fine form as the finale to the Premier League season unfolded.

Cheers,

Ian

Very refreshing, hoppy pale from Thornbridge.

I live in Chipping Norton so this is freely available, they do a Pilsner too which I’ve also tried but prefer the bog standard one you had. It’s pretty impressive for a bottled lager IMHO and atypical of the “style” in this neck of the woods. Hook Norton Brewery is just up the road and if you’ve not tried their Ironstone Lager it’s better still particularly on tap - similar taste but turned up a notch.

Small world, eh? I’ve only been here for 4 years but it’s a class act, well maybe not after they build the 4700-odd new homes WODC granted planning permission for! Are you still in the area now?

Love Derbyshire, went to Castleton a couple of years ago to do a spot of hiking, lovely county - I might have to join you if all these homes get built and the queues to Diddly Squat get even longer!

Camped in Castleton with the scouts many decades ago, organised a patrol camp as part of the Chief Scout Award.

The first few days in the field were quiet apart from a warning to keep eyes open for an escaped prisoner. End result was everyone was ***ing themselves when darkness came round.

On the final few days a whole troop of girl guides pitched up in the field next door ! Out-numbered over 100 to 6.

Anyway, I digress. Back to beer..

Yep, back to beer! Another 2 new 'uns on at The Bandstand tonight. Island Life is one of those beers marketed as a ‘Session IPA’. Though certainly tasty, it bears little resemblance to a true IPA. The Fat Cat Brewery, Incredible Pale Ale, at 5.2 ABV on the other hand…

Cheers,

Ian

We’re fresh shoots in evidence?

Indeed they were.

Beerbohm’s Lichfield. Lark (from Edinburgh) was terrific, albeit at £5 a pint.

Maybe a weird question, but are you sure the people working there mind you posting their picture on the Internet? With a bit of patience you could probably take one without them in it.

Good point. Picture edited.
