Now Sicily is a place I’d really like to go to. One day maybe. For now I’m slumming it in the garden here on the sunny south coast, on an absolutely beautiful evening.
I rather like this Brewdog Elvis Juice. Set aside all the stuff around the company, and it’s a really nice beer.
Great little pub on the Welsh bank of the Wye. The left hand glass is Deuce, a very refreshing pale ale, whilst the right hand pint is one of the many ciders on offer: badger’s arse. Simple lunch of trealy charcuterie and salad for me, and a friend had a local sausage roll. Sadly the river was the colour of mud.
A couple of Avocets at the Exeter Brewery this evening. Brewed on site. Patio (if you can call it that) is right next to the railways tracks, just outside of St Davids Station. Be sure to wave if you are passing by on route to the South West this summer.
The most recent beer I’ve had was this, though mine was draught not from a can (yeuck). It is brewed just outside the arctic circle - to which the ‘67’ alludes, though the brewery is only just past latitude 66. Segull doesn’t refer to irritating sea birds, but is Icelandic for magnet, relating to a compass, the brewery being a small craft brewery in Siglufjördur in Iceland. A slightly unusual taste to me, perhaps because of American hops? Apart from water, apparently all ingredients are imported to Iceland.
A no carb lager not my usual and not that good either, but it’s a beautiful sunny winters day and I’ve been busy finishing things off in our apartment.
Haven’t bought a long neck for years but I use to enjoy this in cans and smaller bottles (throw downs), don’t know if it’s the same as it was but it’s not bad.
