What beer are you drinking and WHY might anyone be interested?

Indeed, the drinks business would go to the wall if it had been relying on people like me.

I have often wondered about the ‘10 pints Boast’ I would be crawling home if I had 3 pints!

The Triple Hop and the Mr Squirrel were both excellent, in contrasting styles.

It would be hard to know where to start, but I’d be finishing on the whiskey cask - sliding under the table…

Those on the right are ciders…

What!!

I would hope so, I can’t see anyone sliding under the table after a sip of 6.9% whisky!

Distinctive peppery hops and bitter orange aroma it says on the blurb. All I know is it tastes lovely.

As if we need an international beer day to celebrate.
Although the sentiment is noted.

Last evening - Hobgoblin Ruby Beer - a bit strong (5.2%) given the heat yesterday. Thick & tasty (lager beer isn’t for me) and only £1.30 per bottle from the local Sainsbury’s.

Wychwood hobgoblin is a fine brew. If you go online to them they can send a mixed case. Some I never see in the shops. Could be worth investigating.

Another potential market for the Brits. Surely, it can’t be for all the Expats?

Although Asahi Black looks like a stout, it tastes nothing like one. This rarity is, however, a very clean, crisp beer that doesn’t linger too long on the tastebuds – exactly what I was looking for in this searing heat.

Sounds a bit like Budvar Black. You wouldn’t know it was a dark beer if you tasted it with your eyes closed.

A real success story, or at least it was prior to CV19.

Certainly were on a sticky wickets for a while.

How do you show a profit to HMG when you have ploughed all the profits back into the business?

I’m rather partial to an IPA so thought an Imperial IPA has to be good .. it is/was but was unlike any IPA I’ve ever had. A lot more malty than hoppy .. not citrusy in the least .. a thoroughly enjoyable drink. I’ve had the standard IPA that @IDAK referenced earlier but not the Imperial .. well worth a look Hugh.

Though at 9% I wouldn’t look too hard or too long.

@JohnWillmott Will keep an eye out for it. Definitely a weekend , not a working weekday beer by the look of it!
