I do not have a signature scent. I wear them depending on the season and my mood.

My go-to’s, depending on which appeals each day/evening:

Eau Sauvage Parfum ( very different to the EDT)
Murdock’s Patchouli
Dali
Trumper’s Ajaccio Violets

An old love, sadly no longer made:
Rive Gauche Pour Homme

In the other thread, in respect of fragrances I use myself I described how the rare fragrances I find I like enough to use on myself seem immediately to be discontinued, with a then current hybrid as a stopgap.

For many years on every trip for through an airport or on a ship with duty free shops I seek out an sample all that are unfamiliar to me, seemingly in vain.

This year on a long holiday spending several weeks in Italy I went into two specialist perfumeries …and in one found two fragrances I really liked, though both not exactly inexpensive, than in the second I found another, in this case extremely inexpensive! A miracle: like buses, none for decades then three come at once!

I now have all three: one for day-to-day use, the other two for more special days. And learning from experience I’ve bought the daily one in bulk: All in all, if these follow the usual pattern of withdrawal as soon as the manufacturers learn I have bought them it won’t bother me as I have enough for many years!

I use these as aftershaves (I don’t use any smells for anything else). The neat fragrances are too strong for that use so I dispense some into a spray bottle and dilute with a suitable aqueous alcohol solution containing a small amount if glycerol.

They are Memo African Leather, Iceberg Twice (Twice pour homme by Iceberg) and Electimuss Imperium.

Sadly no, just me. She has quite poor taste … and low self-esteem I imagine.

Natural sweat is my go to, a plunge in the pool, sea or an outdoor cold shower to freshen up in summer. Hot showers in winter with some soap, nothing to girly.

Cold showers even better in winter.

Do cold showers actually work? I take a shower mainly to wash my body all over, including hair. A secondary function is to warm my body so that when I get into bed it is cooling natural helped trigger sleep useful if I go to bed late. A third function is to warm me when I’m cold. A cold shiwer sekf-evidently wouldn’t achieve the last two, and would not be good for the first because all I would want to do is get out resulting in a very cursory wash.
You can to that a hate of cold showers! However a cool (lukewarm not cold) shower on a very hot day is nice.

I’m a masochist. I love a cold shower in the morning. So I have a hot one, instead.

Yep, the faint odour of pee wafting in a fug of sweat and grease…

And the halitosis! :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Failing that, sour milk if you’re a Westerner.

The shower side angle raises a question: are you normally a morning or evening shower person? (Or both?) For me it is evening, liking to go to bed clean (and nicely warmed.)

Morning for many years - start the day clean!

…until recently when, especially on holiday for some reason, last thing at night makes a lot of sense. Clean body keeps the bedclothes cleaner longer? Saves time/effort in the morning. Less easy to tame the bed hair, though. I’m not sure which I’m going to prefer long-term yet. I may be too old to change the habits of many decades.
