No experience in matching with power strip, but even on my matrix2 it sound great
the " Hospital Grade Green Dot Power Cord" I got on Amazon has âWell Shinâ on the cable. So the tibia with hospital grade plugs?
Listening for some tracks I finally didnât liked the big Kharma on the 555 dr. On other tracks the sound is a bit bright, less nice tonally. Had a little whouah effect which disappeared after. Now the Sarum t is still on the wall but the Kharma GR is connected to my 250 dr.
Will have to choose between that and previous set up where Kharma on the wall and Chord on the 555 dr.
I know that the best cable should be on the wall, but the Kharma GR ( silver) doesnât work with all components.
So not so easy to find the right balance.
I use the 10ft one of these to my Supra power strip in the server closet. Nicely made, though no idea of itâs comparative sonic ability as I installed it in conjunction with the power strip, which made a subtle relaxing of sound, part of the small percentages that add up. I have never seen any real difference with a power cable - only once though in a negative way when I tried shunyata venom. [/quote]
Well, the Venom NR V-10 is no longer powering my DAC V1. Just too much bass, and loss of the Naim PRAT, though other things about it were really nice. I could love it if all I listened to was solo acoustic music, or even classical, but thatâs just not the case. I put it on the Sonore power supply for the opticalrendu and there it shall live. A Tibia (with upgraded wall plug) is back on the V1, and the Naim balance and sound is back.
For a final trial, Iâm going to try an AVOptions Tibia 12, chop the end off and attach a Furutech copper plug and leave the iec end as is (I find the AVOptions $140 surcharge to attach a $22 Wattgate a bit much). Hopefully this will fall somewhere between a stock Tibia and a meaty high end cable like the Shunyata.
It runs down behind some shelves, so I donât know. The couple of sections I could see, there was no writing or embossing at all.
Couple of cordsâŚBlack Cat Silverstar with 20amp Wattgates, A Zen Wave Pl11 with Furutech NCF50âs and a pair of Audio Art SEâs with Furutech Fi28âs.
Impressive listing! Is there any specific reason why you havenât put a Naim Powerline on the NASPC, connected to the 282? Iâve recently acquired two new Powerlines for both 282 powerunits: HC and NAPSC. But to my surprise, Iâm not all sure about the added value of a PL on the NASPC, compared to Naim Standard. The overall sound looks like getting a bit too âspaciousâ, a bit 'hollowish". Any experience?
Iâm going to buy Chords new power distribution block when itâs avalible to order. I have listened to a pre-production unit on two different occations in two different systems.
It made a obvious and good impact on sound quality on both occations
I have tried several other brands before and most of them have degraded the sound quality. I have been waiting for this product for a long timeâŚ
Didnât quiet understand
How did you listen to Chord power strip if itâs not available yet? good news
No, not yet but a friend just recieved 5 for his systemâŚ
I listened to a pre-production unit at a dealer event in the beginning of the year. I think it was in februaryâŚ
The system was NDX2 + XPS and SuperNait3 + HiCap into Neat speakers. Cables were ChordâŚ
Second time was a few months ago with ND555, NAC252, NAP300 into Neat-speakers. Cables were Chord. We also compared EE8Switch vs UpTone EtherRegen in the same system.
Quite an interesting afternoon
Theyâre seriously good.
How about ER vs EE?
Yes, he told me so. Have you listened or already bought your own?
I just bought a NAP500DR so nothing more for me in a long time except a Power distribution block
The birdy ones ?
To my ears the EE8switch outperformed the ER + LPS-1.2 (and better dc-cable). There were no dought to my earsâŚ
Since EE8Switch sounded better, looked better, did not run as hot, did not require several âboxesâ and on top of that also was cheaper it was a very easy chioce for me
I ordered one right away
Sure, you can add better PS and an external clock and the ER will sound better. But right now Iâm not very keen on having a switch for 5-6k GBP in three boxes that sounds a little better (or maybe much better) than the 8Switch. In a year or two there will probably be another even better switch to buy (since audiophile-switches are rather new products)
Time will tell
