What now for 272 owners?

That a double press (first short, then long) makes the volume pot turn more slowly. It’s actually in the manual but I guess easily overlooked, I did as well. It also works with the NDX2 remote via system automation

Thanks. I’ll give it a go.

It certainly helps if you’re aware of the double press option, although for me it was still not very slick. Coming from a Superuniti, which uses the exact same excellent volume control as the 272, it was a small annoyance but one I was prepared to live with.

Thx, interesting read. I will be trying the 912 at home for a while. Including the active ATC:s.

The double click works with the NDX2 remote with system automation, is that right? I’m still learning it seems.

….I only just discovered touching the name logo on the 272 mutes the sound…I love it. Simple things…

It’s an easy feature to miss as it doesn’t look like a button (and who reads manuals anyway!) but yes, the NAC-N streamer/preamps and a some 1st gen. Unitis used the logo as a mute button.

Try ATC active 50s - they are the best to me as I have several pairs in my different setups

It takes a bit of practice but it does

I dont think they are available here to demo. But I am going to check if I can get the standmount SCM20ASL Mk2 in anything but black.

Black is beautiful :grinning:

Hi Mark,
As you probably know, I have the Ear 912. I read with interest the review you linked.
At the end, in the 2021 update part, he says that changing the caps or something like that, upgraded the sound. Do you know if it’s easy to do?

He tried the Mullard and didn’t liked. Strange, because my Ear Yoshino dealer finds them the best for the 912. I wanted one day to try these tubes, perhaps I should not.

Two very good postings, touching seriousness and humour together. Much appreciated by me.

And as a volume up/down button too; that’s the case on my UnitiQute, at least. Handy if your app containing equipment and the remote have been ‘tidied away’!

Cheers,

Ian

Haha same here! I thought it was a joke but it actually works. Is that in the manual? Never read about it as far as I can remember.
