What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2023?

Look forward to hearing your comments with the performance of the XPS DR vs the NPX 300 power supplies with your NDX 2.

I’m interested as well. How do you think it performs?

Had a similar experience with a Sarum tuned aray din-xlr recently. Very impressed and surprised at the same time!

I also tried a shawline ethernet, but it didn’t do that much to my ears, and was returned. But the Chord epic or this signature ethernet is perhaps worth looking out for?

Shawline streaming didn’t do it for me either. Currently using Clearway which, although not perfect, I much prefer.

Will report once the Sig Super Aray is bedded in.

Why?

I was wondering too. Isn’t it the case that older gen Classics cannot take full advantage of the NPX?

I have a NDX2/XPSDR and plan to make no changes to it.

Is this the ethernet LAN cable that connects the streamer to the wifi router? If yes, this is the only ā€œstandardā€ cable in my system that hasn’t been replaced. I can’t imagine this cable to bring any difference to the sound but would appreciate your thoughts.

The Virgin Hub router is connected by a Chord C-Stream to a Cisco 2960. The 2960 is connected to an EE8 switch (with linear ps) by a Chord Shawline. The EE8 then connects to the ND555 with a Chord Clearway. (The hip bone’s connected…etc etc).

My plan is to replace the Clearway with the Sig Super Aray for this last 1m connection.

I may then swap the Shawline out between 2960-EE8 and put in the Clearway. If all good I can move the Shawline on.

Most of my leads and cables are all old / original apart from a new powerline lite, so felt its time to try some new ones. These have just arrived.

MCRU No.75, which from the MCRU range, at their price point, David recommended the 75 best for Naim. So I thought why not.

Titan Audio Helios, which was bit of a bargain really. They retail at £225 but currently, Titan sale price, £100, so again, why not! Plus you get a lifetime warranty with their products, also they are based 30-40 minutes away which for me its nice to support local business.

I am very cognisant that I do not want to lose any of the Naim sound and musicality but at the same time wish to enhance it if possible, so I have decided to experiment a little, without breaking the bank. So starting of with these 2 mains leads and the powerline lite I will explore what leads works best with which unit.

As for my old DIN etc leads I feel that I may stick with the standard naim ones (before considering other brands), whether new or used, maybe find a few lavender ones.

A set of cabinet surface protectors for my centre speaker stand…I understand they might also improve the sound.

I’d get a Fraim. Forget cables.:sunglasses:

Never.

The Sarum Super Aray Din-Din is a definite keeper and I await delivery of the Sig Super Aray streaming cable, so will post after a week or so with that in place.

Red, Blue, Bronze or Black @redmug?

Black, had a cadenza blue before the kandid :+1:

I’d be very interested to hear your views once you’ve had a chance to come to some.
I will be considering alternatives to my Apheta3 later this year and going back to Ortofon is definitely of interest. :slightly_smiling_face:

I strongly recommend a Lyra Delos. Wonderful, and match very well the RB3000 arm. I had it before.
Van den Hull frog work very well too with the P10.

HiCap DR
