I’m really hoping to do this before the end of the year, maybe even this summer🤞🏼
I hope they meet your expectations, did you home demo?
Rega RX3’s are unknown to me🤔
I bought blind. I have Spendor D7.2 now.
They’re a good match I understand.
I went Dynaudio Evoke 50’s and Home Demoed the 222/250 combo without the 300 a couple of months ago. It’s definitely the sound I’m looking for, but my current 202/200 system sounds pretty awesome through them as well so might just add ND5 XS2 short term🤷🏻♂️
I have the NC250 with the D7.2s. It’s still getting better after 3 months and it’s a great match with them.
Looks stylish too……happy upgrade.
New Whest Titan Pro phono stage.
To go with the new Avid Nexus Tonearm
Running a new Dynavector DRT XV1S
Shhh don’t tell the wife
Nice Acutus Black!!! Such a wonderful turntable and with the new Nexus too! How does it compare to an SME V? Didn’t Conrad persuade you to go for a Ruby Reference?
Enjoy and please let us know how you get on!
The Nexus, to my ears, makes the SME sound almost robotic and veiled. I ran the IV for 20 years and thought it was the dog’s, until I got the Nexus. Wow! Cloth very firmly taken from my ears.
I did have a listen to the Avid Boron, but having run a XV1S for the past 12 years decided to stick with that and used the Dynavector trade in to buy a new one
Conrad tells me I was the first person to get the Nexus, outside of the Avid employees
Technics seem on bit of a roll at the moment
Just had a kind of upgrade and replacement day behind me.
Exchanged my NAD AV receiver with a new one as the old one was broken. Not so interesting, but needed to happen.
What was interesting though was my upgrade of my NAP 500 to a DR version. Also upgraded something else - but forbidden to discuss here. I will update my listening experiences in the 500 to 500DR thread which already was in place for some time.
The something else is rather good really, things are not entirely right without it. Enjoy the 500 DR, I expect it’s rather awesome.
I have them now accross all components and have to say that the 552 was lifted dramatically…., so I expect the 500DR to react good to it but with less overall impact.
Their manager (I want to say CEO but Technics is just a division in Panasonic; not even a child company) has really turned things around. She’s doubled down on commitment to higher end of the midrange audio market. Before she took the reins it was very much trying to make products for everyone that satisfied no one. She’s refocused them onto a very small product portfolio that doesn’t try to be all things to all people and it seems to have paid off. She even oversaw the rebirth of the SL-1200 after it was totally discontinued years earlier.
I think i read somewhere that she is a musician and valued quality hifi playback.
She’s done a fantastic job.
