What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2024?

I know what you mean about losing track of things when streaming. I find it is very easy to add a lot of albums to your favourites and either not listen to them at all or not give them the time they deserve. Whereas when you have actually purchased the physical CD you are more likely to listen to it. In my case anyway…

Change of mind. Decided to return Stageline (didn’t try it) due to how my setup will be at home and bought a Aurorasound Vida Prima instead. Then I can put my LP12 bit further away and have the riaa close to it. Something that wouldn’t be possible with Stageline. Seems like a good performer and I believe it looks great in a Japanese way  And I don’t have to think about degrading 552 performance which some claim is real.

The VIDA Prima in this system brought this wonderland to life in Barn, with acoustic guitar strums glistening in the air and accordion, mandolin, horns, and more providing the local color with their unique full voices adding layers of depth and resonance backing these songs that brought me back to those strange, lonely, hot hopeful days and nights baking in the sun and walking the boards.

I listened to lots of records through the VIDA Prima and as the review period was coming to an end I made sure to hit a bunch of highlights for purely selfish reasons, namely pleasure. Paired with the Michell/Ortofon/Leben/DeVore system, the VIDA Prima lit up the Barn with sounds as sweet as honey all rich, detailed and—of greatest importance—well balanced that puts all of one’s attention front and center on the performance unfolding right there in front of you. From small and intimate to large and boisterous, the VIDA Prima did music proud.

That’s a beautiful piece. Sometimes its fun to go outside the Naim esthetic.

Great purchase, I have a CD5Si and think it’s a lovely musical player. Sadly underrated by many on the forum.

Not a bit of kit but I’ve purchased Asset for my Synology nas because the server on the nas wasn’t seeing any new additions to my library for some reason.
Well all went as easy as can be and it’s working like a charm. On the plus side there is also an uplift in sound quality. A win win for not a great outlay :+1:t2:

Well a separate power supply for the Stageline would have fixed it …

I have enough boxes  At some point it has to stop :stop_sign:

That’s the beauty with the Naim Prefix, inside the LP12

It doesn’t solve that I’m having my turntable 3.5 cable meters from my 552

Not a bigger problem running a long cable from the Prefix power supply to the Nac 552.

Isn’t it a fixed DIN cable at about 1.25m coming out from the Prefix going to a 552?

You use a 4-5 Din interconnect from the Power supply (say a Hicap) to the 552 Pre.

I would be interested in your thoughts comparing the Denafrips to your Qutest. Is that the Ares 11, or some other model? I have owned the original Hugo and Mscaler/TT2 in the past, currently Lumin P1 all in one. I like the fact that it plays heavily upsampled files.

I also did this with records too.

When I was selling mine, found a number still in the shrink wrap that I hadn’t listened to. Indeed, found two examples of the same album unopened.

Joys of getting older.

The first, and smallest, step on the road to active. A great service from Designacable.

Snap! Well, nearly.

Look very nice. Quality Neutrik connectors too, by the look of them.

Absolutely, and all for £68. It’s strange to think I once had SuperLumina speaker cables at goodness knows how much.

Broke my Apheta 2 cartridge and bought Benz Micro Glider SL to replace it. I’ve been demoing older Glider for a while now and it seems to suite better for me.
Any suggestions what Airplugs I should look for my Superline now?
