Upgrading the CD5 XS and the FlatCap XS with proper power leads.
As the cable is one of my own designs, I was searching for nice plugs to fit them with.
The Supra plugs were new to me, specs looked good so gave them a try. The fitting is super easy, something other brands could learn a thing or two from.
I knew the cables would make a significant impact on the whole performance, but again it is so nice to hear this back instantly.
With a lot of thanks to people on this forum I also connected the StageLine to the FlatCap XS in stead of the I Supply, man that is something else!
It is so quiet now, so much more air in between vocals/instrument, broader stage.
SHARP,.that’s the least Sense is in the systems I’ve heard.
Very musical and engaging sound quality.
Maybe you should look over your other installation around your Streamer/DAC.
What do you have,.as an example of a USB-cable between your InnuOs streamer and DAC.?
AND,.from your DAC and beyond…
it was clean but lacked weight, my usb is a neotech copper or atlas occ copper. a reiki superswitch is in front of the innuos so no spurious noise or grounding issues with melco C100 ethernet cables feeding the lot. Ill try it again but just my initial impression.
Wattson Audio Madison Lounge Edition Streamer / DAC
Having seen and been intrigued by Andreas.ca’s Wattson Emerson streamer, I got in touch with the terrific VAL HiFi in the south of the UK who sent me the Madison Lounge Edition streamer to try.
It was intended to partner the Nait 50 and YG Peaks Cairn standmounters I have on order, but having dropped it into the main system, I’m not sure it’ll actually stay there and the dCS LINA go to the second system! It’s staggeringly good for the money; no screen or any other form of twiddlery other than a bass reduction setting for speakers against a wall.
The sound is mega-Naim - very very fast, very engaging, massive staging and miles bigger scale than LINA delivers. LINA is spectacular too in its own way, but for its size and cost, wow is the Wattson Audio good! It’s actually a CH Precision product now anyway, as they have just taken over the Wattson brand…
If you’re considering an NDX2 / 555 level player, I’d very strongly suggest giving it a whirl…
Simple and effective - and reusable within reason - I’ve never had much success with using crimp connectors, so these no crimp VCELINK RJ45 ethernet cable connectors were a lifesaver when I was cabling my Atom.
Naim are on a 10 week delay with Atom HEs apparently, so Audio T have loaned me one until mine is ready, which allows them to sort out the RMA on my Nova. The active boards are in my PMCs and yes, it really does take less than five minutes per speaker. I still need to hide the cables and sort out the mains so that both speakers can use the dedicated spur, but I’m up and running.
It’s a journey that I wouldn’t have started were it not for my second Nova being faulty. I was totally happy with it, but wasn’t going to risk a third. Initial signs are very promising.
You have had your strange comments throughout the years too I care about security and you about products aligning within 1mm tolerance. We are all different and have different focus in life.
