I have the + in the study system and it’s great in there.
I haven’t got round to comparing in main system yet, I was more interested in seeing what in can do as a stand alone in place of the higher value/larger box Aries or feeding DAC of Marantz when it arrives.
At the moment I’ve just left it running in for a few days. Right now it’s a noticeably different sound signature from the Aries/Naim DAC, but not ‘bad’.
What I can say so far is that the Ultra is incredibly cable sensitive.
Flashback vs Atlas Hyper RCA’s for example sound like two different units.
I also took the Audioquest NRG Y power cable off my Mu-So just now and put that on the Ultra. Within seconds my first two words were ‘F… me!’ If anyone’s thinking of getting one, I’d suggest swapping that power cable out right away.
