What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2024?

Are you sure it’s not a Lego railway part?:rofl:

[Pedant alert] You know “Dolby Stereo” is actually not stereo. It’s the commercial name for Dolby Pro-Logic surround sound - which is processed into 4 channels and a sub bass channel from a suitably encoded “Dolby Stereo” mix.

Another (tweek)……

Sufficiently impressed with the impact of the first on on my Atom HE, I trialled it on the NSC222 and concluded it warranted its own filter on a permanent basis.

As previously noted, not a night and day difference but worth it nonetheless.

Update #1: Delivered, installed and just as good as the original, now running on both the Atom HE and NSC222, probably worth the cost but, of course, YMMV :innocent:.

Catsnake in. Supra CAT8 out. Between router and switch. They ship DDP so no customs outside UK :+1:

Arrived today, just need to change the fuse

The very job.
Take your time and be safe mate. :+1:t2:
Impressed the guy that fitted the wrong fuse got it the right way round.

Do you have fuses directly in the connectors? A bit strange, isn’t it?

This speed train is sick. A cable should not be able to do this. Julian never heard was his wonderful products were able to do with NACA5 :frowning:

You mean it’s news to you that UK have the fuse in the connector? :flushed:

Yeah, I didn’t know that… Seems a bit unnecessary :innocent:

So good that you’ll buy a pair?

Too early to say since I haven’t gone back to Ascendance yet but it’s much better for sure but it’s also much more expensive. But it is something like going from 272 to 552. Not kidding you. It’s a HUGE upgrade. Understand people spending even more on Chord Music now. It might be that it is a better investment than a box upgrade or speaker upgrade. Those who have tried they know. Everyone else I guess will be very sceptical. Try it out if you can is my advice but be prepared on what it will do with your system.

Sounds like I’ll have to drop by Joel in the fall and borrow a pair then.

I’m doing everyone a favour! If you want it that is  I’m so glad I’m openminded and curious. My wallet IS NOT.

I was joking and after looking up the oephi cable price I thing Mus be joking … sooo good? :flushed:

It is indeed very very very very very good. From the review in HI-FI+.

You find yourself drawn ever deeper into the music regardless of what that music is. The absence of signature imposed on the system and the cable’s ability to keep each component from singing along with the others makes for an intensely immersive, musically honest sound. Moving quickly through all those recordings I use to test audio, I found each to be musically enjoyable and sonically informative. I find myself saying ‘track six’ automatically at the first sign of the CD’s label. Yet the OePhi Reference opened the whole album to me once more.

An album like Stripped by The Rolling Stones [Virgin] has been in my review arsenal for years, but I only play track 12 (‘Love in Vain’). This time, I found myself playing the whole album end-to-end. The same happened with ‘test’ albums from Trentemøller, Joyce DiDonato, Cannonball Adderley, and the works of John Pickard, Rachmaninov, and Mahler. This rarely happens and, while I doubt it would happen with Porn at the Jazzshop, who knows?

Looks the business!!
