Inexpensive is all relative I guess. I wouldn’t describe it that way though, at least not in absolute terms. I have a Clearaudio turntable. It’s all high precision and high quality materials, all hand built in-house. Fit and finish is 2nd to none. This isn’t what I would call inexpensive to do. My turntable wasn’t cheap but I think it’s a great value in the realm of higher end turntables.

I agree with your view. My view is metal work up to TT is easy to produce. The TT is the star but does it justify this forum quoted price?
I have that clamp. I had actually ordered the Innovation clamp for somewhat less but the Statement clamp was sent by mistake, so I was able to keep it for the Innovation clamp price.
Nevertheless, I have been through a few less costly clamps. They do have an impact on sound and the Statement clamp is substantially better in sound quality than the others, and not by a small margin.

I think that’s all in the eye of the beholder. I don’t consider having one worth the cost, but for a hedge fund billionaire who wants the best of the best for leisure time it might be well worth it. I do know that Clearaudio sells the turntable. It’s not just an exercise for them to produce one. I think when you buy one they send someone from the factory to set it up for you.
It weighs 600+ lbs.

To be fair, the same goes for many other flagship products in audio. You can spend $50-100K on a powercord, in comparison $300K for that TT setup doesn’t seem like such a bad deal 
This TT is targeting top end, most audio manufacturers, up there are on thin ice, US, EU hedge fund eat them up.
Dusting would be like painting the Forth Bridge, lol. But I guess any prospective owner has servants for that…

I’ve recently purchased the Stack Audio Auva 100 speaker isolation feet. They replace my Townshend Podiums under my Cube Audio Nenuphar speakers. The podiums are now under my Rel subs.

I’ve just bought an NDX 2 (mint condition except for the remote control) through my long-standing ex-Naim dealer for a price that was very appealing. It is replacing my NDX, which has served me well for many years.

Perlisten R210s in the house. I saw it advertised for 50% off as “B-stock” and was prepared for some scratches/markings to justify the steep discount. But no, in absolute perfect condition. The outer carton had a slight mark but that’s it. The R210s appealed to me as I wanted a sub that would work well with my Kudos T505 which are an isobaric design and the R210s is a dual-10" driver in a push-pull array. Similar, if not the same.
Hooked it up with a 2m pair of Shunyata Venom RCAs that were in storage, downloaded the control app and fired it up. Despite plonking it down in the room with no concern to ideal placement and the bare minimum adjustments (crossover at 40hz and set to THX Small Room) the sound is in a word: primal. Keep in mind I haven’t used a sub for nearly a decade when I had a venerable Ruark Logrhythm as part of a 5.1 set up and never as part of a proper 2-channel system so to hear such depth, weight and impact from bass is simply shocking. I never realised just how much low end is missing despite my 505s going reasonably low for a stand mount.
Obviously needs lots of tweaking and a proper deep-dive into the settings (annoyingly there’s no manual either with the sub or online but I found a manual for the “D” series which is close enough) I’ll have it properly blended and as invisible as possible.
Already this is getting me close to my desired goal to recreate (within reason) the feeling and air-pressure slam of a live gig.
And yes it’s the size of a bar-fridge.
