What was the last bit of gear you bought in 2025?

Hey @AltaMarshall
Thanks for kind comment.
Sure, in time, can post an update. No problem.

In the meantime, already shared comments and observations - along the journey - to get to this point. Just search for “ The Best Things” parts one, two and three. Hope that’s all interesting to read for now.

Having just checked your profile, see this latest move has brought our system up to same level as yourself. Nice :+1: Maybe, with the exception of the end of the chain - power amp and speakers. (As we decided to go the active speaker route).

Love your Ovators

Best wishes
R

Bought a used pair of Accuphase ASL-10 interconnects to go between turntable and Nait50. Sounds very promising.

Audio cables must fulfill a number of important requirements. They must have minimum transmission losses, not introduce any sonic character of their own, and bring out the sonic and musical qualities of connected equipment to the fullest. Audio cables from Accuphase employ the most up-to-date sophisticated technology to fulfill these goals. As a result of intensive research into conductor and insulation materials as well as cable construction principles, combined with extensive series of listening tests, we proudly present this latest high-quality cable that introduces virtually no losses and that allows the music to emerge in all its refined glory.

  • SR series cable features an 8-core multi-hybrid configuration. Center conductor consists of two sets of four different copper wires, including an extra thick 7N (99.99999%) ultra pure copper wire with 0.9 mm diameter.

  • Center conductor dielectric employs polyethylene with low inductivity and high insulation resistance, to reduce stray capacitance between the conductors.

  • Braided outer shield is a dual-shield type combining 192 ultra-fine 0.1 mm diameter soft copper wires with aluminum foil tape. This design reliably shuts out any external noise.

How much of that was AI generated?

Pretty much all of it I’d guess….

Copy and paste straight from manufacturer website more likely.

BB, if you like Accuphase cable, give yourself another option— esoteric cable. Both are Japan cables .

Anyway, enjoy your new cable :flexed_biceps:t2:

I see that AI generated web content is becoming very common. Square space for one are using AI capability as a Marketing differentiator heavily recently

You forgot the most important element.
It must be long enough.

There are quite a few Japanese cables out there.

I use Luxman interconnects and speaker cables on two systems, Zonotone interconnect on another, Furutech interconnect in yet another. For the lower end stuff, if I can’t be bothered to make my own with Mogami stock, I order something from Cablecraft in Hiroshima.

I’ve used Audio Technica interconnects too. Those were actually very good indeed and performed way above their low cost.

AFAIK the Luxman and Accuphase interconnects are actually the same and made by Mitsubishi Electric.

Should be good. I bought a pair of the blue type off ebay some time ago for a song. Work very well between my Kenwood tuner and the Michi.

Just got an iFI GOBlu Bluetooth headphone amp. Neat little bit of kit and £159 in the Sevenoaks sale. I must admit I’m a big fan of iFI Audio as I’ve also a Hip-DAC 2 and a GO Link Max as well as a Zen Phono Stage. So far I’m impressed with the little GoBlu and just adds to my options when out and about, means I can use my wired Focal Elegia headphones without the cables getting in the way too much.

Thanks, yes, it is a bit of a monster

Because its a single chassis rather than the two chassis design of the NAP500 I suppose the size and weight of the two compare reasonably, but the one unit is quite imposing

I’ll have to wait a day or two for a connecting lead to be made up before I can give it a listen but its something I’m looking froward to hearing

Yep the Moor amps are lovely bits of kit, just not so rack friendly. Enjoy the new amp.
