IMO yes it is something to focus on. Manufacturers are demanding ever increasing prices for their products and should be held to account. A small mark like this may appear to be nothing but would you accept a scratch in the paintwork of your brand new automobile? I think not. Don’t let the manufacturers get away with it. A small mark on the case is the thin end of the wedge, what other defects (bad solder joints, poor cable dressing etc) are there in places you cannot see. As consumers we have to hold them to very high standards.
8 HRS Nimbus NA150 Isolation assemblies. These are to go beneath my dCS DAC and Clock.
Following the full set of Transparent Ultra cables, this will be the last bit of gear I buy in 2025.
In the last few weeks…
Stageline S
HiCap 2 to power the Stageline
Just need a second HCDR for the 282 now and that should be it for this year lol!
My bank manager & I are both delighted with this 2025 hifi purchase today when Cymbiosis relieved me of £1.08 for these 2 items. ![]()
(LP12 lid stoppers in case you’re wondering)
I bet the bass performance has improved considerably and the soundstage opened up as a result ![]()
You have dcs with Dan dagostino amps. Heared the big ones with the big ones with Wilson 500k speakers at a hifi show and it burned so in - never ever heared anything like it.
How do they work with your 606?
Are we referring to the ashtrays and the smoking ban? ![]()
Aalto turning in his grave.

The system is fantastic thank you @drago I daren’t listen to any of the D’agostino stuff higher up the range, for fear of temptation!
There is a great synergy, apparently, with D’Agostino and Wilson speakers, so that may be something for the future. In the meantime, I’m very happy with the set-up.

I’m using HRS Nimbus pucks under my Boulder phono-stage, but I just have three that were spares from a previous application. I should really use five, but I’m waiting to see if I’m going to upgrade my turntable.
If I do that I plan to get a three-shelf HRS rack for the phono-stage and turntable. Then I’ll get a Minus-K isolation base for the turntable, and repurpose the turntable’s HRS isolation base for the Boulder. I’m looking at $30K to do all that.
Mate, I couldn’t possibly have worded that better… 100% agree with you!
I was offered a discount… I refused it… I don’t expect to hand over thousands of pounds of MY money on a NEW product (any product) only to find it has imperfections caused by ridiculously poor QC!! (Especially at this price point)…
Something tells me if the same happened to the people on here claiming it’s no big deal, etc, they’d be singing from the same hymn sheet as me in no time! ![]()
4 weeks ago yesterday I had my 32.5/hicap/250 CBs which I’ve owned from new serviced by Darren at Class A. He told me things would take 2 to 3 weeks to come on song. He knows his stuff & charges very fair prices. He’s also a huge LUFC fan. 9 years since my previous service and the service has proved to be as good as any upgrade. My CBs are like an extra limb. I love them. There’s a reason (sweet music) they were aspirational on release. So not new gear but like new gear. Anyone contemplating a service should, imo, press on. And having no remote keeps me fit.
It’s not so problematic with my tile floor.
It’s been different when moving from carpet to tile floor (with SBLs). But this was also from solid back wall to plasterboard.
Tiles brought a more analytical faster sound - with a lot of carpets i managed to tame it.
My tiles are not glossy and there is something damping underneath - maybe this helps.
And I adapted to it ![]()
The dcs, DanDag… Wilson combination was clearly the best (and most expensive) I have ever heared.
The amps can get really expensive
so as the rest.
Really love to hear someday the more entry level amps plus dcs!
I don’t know if there’s some damping underneath. But it’s better now. Looks good too.
