More like a reasonable request for legible text, rather than a block of text that could read like a stream of consciousness.
That only may be accurate.
Yes, he has also used mid- range Yamaha at Bristol , I have P3ESR ( they are here for the long run) and they do like / respond to serious amounts of power.
Yesterday this bundle arrived from my local Clearaudio dealer.
I have not used it yet, but I would have to say what a professional and thorough package it is, as well as looking very snazzy in the black finish.
Although I ordered some extra cleaning fluid and replacement microfiber straps at the time of purchase, all you would need to get you going is a measuring jug for adding the cleaning fluid.
I also ordered the perspex cover, which, thoughtfully has notches on either side so that the cover can be lifted on and off without getting fingerprints all over it.
Hoping that tomorrow my AudioQuest Earth RCA-XLR will arrive.
It will be used to connect my Atom to the Purifi power amplifier. Retail price is about the same as the Purifi amplifier. But I got it at a very nice price.
Have fun with it.I certainly hope that it’s quieter than my old VPI15. My petrol leaf plower is quieter!
Thanks. It should be. I have seen a few videos of it in action and it is certainly quieter than my old (Moth?) RCM particularly when something went awry and it was ear-splitting:relaxed:
Really looking forward to reading about your experiences with this Hegel amp.
At Cranage I heard the newly launched Hegel 590 driving Amphion Krypton 3 large floor-standers and the pairing were a force of nature! The combination filled a huge uncompromising room effortlessly, and I thought it was one of the best sounding rooms at the show (alongside Neat & Kudos, both using Naim amps) and this was one of the rooms I kept returning to.
Also think Hegel’s design language is rather elegant too.
I’m really interested with how you get on. I am looking for an RCM and I have been eyeing this alongside one or two others. It looks like a quality piece of equipment.
My Clearaudio dealer said to me that they use one of these to clean customers’ records.
It has a couple of reviews online which are pretty favourable.
It does look and feel like a quality piece of gear. Clearaudio seem to have simplified things in very user-friendly way. I had been looking at the Nessie machines for a long while until I saw this. It has a full size platter, a clamp that covers the label, a 45rpm single centre adaptor, and to clean 12"/7"/10" one simply moves a slider on the arm (that doubles up as cleaner and vacuum).
Whilst I would have like to have “bought British” the indigenous offerings either look to me like they have been knocked up in a shed, or appear rather fiddly, although I am sure satisfied owners would disagree.
I will see how it performs and post accordingly. If it works as well as it looks it should, I think it will be a good buy. Al
Can’t see what cables you have between the rcm and your amp?
I’m thinking about this project. Could you please also compare against the NAP200?
Naim nacA5 in white from the 135s to the speakers. I was going to put the rcm in the garage but there was not really anywhere for it to go. I have a footstool in my listening room which will be ideal for me to sit on when using the Clearaudio.
I have sold the NAP200 but from memory I would say the NAP200 sounds thinner and less dynamic. It is a great amp but in terms of improvement compared to the Atom built in power amp, the Purify sounds much more dynamic, open and spacious, where the NAP200
sounded more open but thinner.
The built in power amp of the Atom sounds great but with my Dynaudios I kept having the feeling they were not opening up completely. That is no longer the case.
Hope this helps.
For those of you interested my Hegel H190 arrived today and though I’ve not put it through it’s paces just letting it warm up overnight my first impressions of build quality are excellent it’s an absolute beast of an amp and looks very cool.
Comes with a beautiful heavy and solid metal remote really looking forward to playing with it tomorrow when I will fill you in.
