Just bought a pair of pixel buds a, not the greatest sound but more than good enough for the radio whilst wandering around. Another bonus is that I can now make mobile calls from the kitchen, which is a mobile signal dead spot, by leaving the phone in the dining room.
Same here! but I used to wander up and down Tottenham Court Road in London. The kit is still available on a well know auction site and a few vintage dealers. I have tried to find a good compromise between quality and price as the very top tier ES stuff is still super pricey.
My mistake. Butch is Derek’s Uncle
Simon Price plinth just arrived to join the Karmen. Now just waiting on the Klimax Radikal and Keel.
Nice plinth!
Hmm… I’d love one day to go back to my fluted original (if it could be strengthened etc) or get one made a la Simon.
Derek is so good, he gets asked by Eric Clapton, perhaps the greatest now living guitar player, to play with him. Pretty good endorsement.
Thanks Ian. It gives me immense joy. Mines actually the one with the silver sheild under the arm. And I put a higher end Sumiko cartridge and linear PSU on.
Costoms told me that there is the 19% MwSt and ca. 5% Customs, I am also thinking about another brand actually…
so will it be. The price in the shop for Germany was also without tax and the UK price was correspondingly higher
Nice! Are you still using the Tellurium Q Black II cable for your speakers?
Are you finding an improvement in any way ?
Just put it on a few mins ago, definitely no worse (phew)…initial findings are that the music sounds more together and more dynamic…need some more time and then put back in original wall-wart for comparison…so, so far, so good…
I found an improvement by putting an IFi power X on my router, but I have yet to change the PS on my two EE8 switches- hence my question.
understand…have yet to try that…good point…
I also have a Bonn N8 (just feeding the EE8) upstream of EE8 (and after Router), may be worth me trying an IFI on this also…
I could never get overly keen on streaming. We are all different.
So the NDX2, CD5X and flat cap will go and this sumo wrestler of a CD player will take their place.
Early days into the trial but it appears quite precise and luminous. The down side is it shows how poorly most jazz recording engineers dealt with the piano.

Very nice indeed.
Hmmn……i have drooled over them at Signals, will have to have a listen, does it play sacd as well?
