Very smart. I really like the uber-slick pull-out bias knob thing; so much nicer than the tiny little slider on the other Rega arms.
Yes, and the grease/goo that sort of comes out of it!
But a much nicer piece of kit to use than the 330.
So I’ve decide to run in the 552 in for a couple of weeks with the 250 system in the study. All sounds good and the 82/supercap can go back to the uk for service. The 552 can go in to the main system after run in.
ADOT MC01 fibre kit. A very busy week at work and having to find a suitable SFP module for my 2960 (the ADOT supplied one isn’t recognised) meant no chance to play until today.
Yes… famous last words
Update on the 552 after just a few hours of running in to a 250-2 non DR.
Bliddy eck, this is good.
Clarity, separation, clean bass that starts and stops without being intrusive and all this on my manky old Spendor A5’s and Node 2i.
Can’t wait until it goes on to the main system.
Will the 300DR get the best from a 552? I don’t actually care, the 500 might make the best of it but meanwhile it just improves whatever it feeds.
(Even U2 is sounding good!, and now Ella on radio paradise)
That does look bloody gorgeous
A very close audiophile friend just gifted me something amazing: Yamaha CD-S1000 SACD/CD player. I am blown away by his generosity, and now have a new toy
Wow, very Nice. Enjoy!
Late Thursday night purchase of a Chord Hugo 2. May have been a mistake, I’m struggling to get it to work via USB with my Auralic Aries Mini. I’ll need to keep investigating/googling.
Have you changed the output setting on the Mini? It should recognise the DAC and give you the option.
A rubber mat from the hardware store, for vibration damping under washing machines.
I cut out a piece to go under my power strip that’s sitting on a wooden floor behind my system. Hmmm… interesting…
Why is this much more audible than you might expect? A clear change in the presentation and tone of the music. WTF?!.. another rabbit hole.
Every now and then I like to fiddle with this type of ‘few quid & reversible’ little experiments.
Very nearly bought a TEAC NT-505 streamer today to use as a transport into my Luxman DAC. Had my card out and everything. Then the salesman shot himself in the foot. “I hear,” he said, “that Luxman have a network transport in the wings ready to go as soon as global supply lets them hit go on production. Should be here by Q2 next year.”
Considering I had just told him I was in the market for a streaming transport for my Luxman gear, this wasn’t very bright of him. Honest yes. But now he has to wait 6 months to get my money.
You are not alone! A certain recently retired Naim retailer used to recommend putting your power strip on top of a small plastic storage box, and Naim have been spotted at shows putting them on a Fraim shelf.
Hi, the Mini doesn’t give me the option, only gives me the Aries digital output. It’s as though it doesn’t recognise the Hugo. Put my Quetest back in and it recognises that.
Strange. Have you tried it via all 3 digital options?
Hi @IvdZ , sorry if bother, but did you purchase pre in the Netherlands? I’m asking because one of the dealers from Leidschendam just sold one .
Hi @Neil0001, what kind of rack do you have (brand name)? Currently I’m looking for something which can replace my Norstone .
Hi, it’s from solid-sounds in Leeds. Paul does them all to order. Good website if you do a search. Can’t link here.
