What was the last CD you bought

‘Pre-loudness’ versions of these from local charity shop this week. Will be interesting to compare with the later reissues I have.

They also had ‘Revolutions’ (1988) by J-M Jarre which I don’t have in my collection at all. Just missed it this time!

Now for a pre-loudness ‘Oxygene’ and ‘Ommadawn’ although I have the CD version of ‘Boxed’……

On Pre-Order, Dire Straits 40th Anniversary of Brothers in Arms, Three CD Deluxe Set.

It includes two CDs of the live show in San Antonio. My reason for purchasing this set.

Wishbone Ash - ‘At the BBC 1970-88’. Don’t buy many new CDs these days but splashed out on this, just released. I buy quite a few second hand from charity shops though!

If it’s the original 1988 version, it’s very worth snapping up. The title track had to be rewritten in 1991 following a dispute over the copyright in the Turkish Ney flute introduction. The retitled track is called Revolution, Revolutions and I don’t think it’s quite as good.

Bolstering my George Michael collection. 3 CD Deluxe Edition in ‘as new’ condition.

That’s useful to know, thanks. I think it was the original 1988 version. I looked at it and went to view something else in the shop then when I got back it had gone! Lesson learned. Never mind, will look out for it in the future.

Just arrived in my mailbox.

Would you believe it! After just missing out last week I managed to pick this up today. It is the 1988 edition I think. It has ‘Printed in West Germany’ on the back label and the title track is called ‘Revolutions’. The ‘Ney’ is mentioned in the credits. The album is on the Dreyfus label.

Nice, and I’ve got a birthday coming up :grinning:.

Looking at the track list, it seems they’ve got them on the 1972 tour, which was when I saw them - front row at Southampton Guildhall!

Going to see them in October, at The Brook in Southampton.

Yup, that’s the one. An underrated album, IMO. The original mastering sounds rather good, too

Two more Jazz discs, at very different places on the Jazz spectrum. Some might consider SML even to be Jazz.

First Branford Marsalis’s take on the classic Jarret album, Belonging. Enjoyable and almost as good as the original, which I bought back in the day.

Went to my record dealer to day to pick up a disc I had ordered. It had not arrived, but he recommended this weird and enjoyable disc by Small Medium Large on the quirky International Anthem label. Lots of electronics and samples. Recommended, if you like unusual stuff.
